How to use: Google Maps software offline!

The one warning to use Google Maps offline is that you have to use it online in order to store the necessary data first. With that point in mind:

Open Google Maps (as online) and search for your preferred location.

Once you’ve found the location or area you wish for, the easiest way to save it for later on, is to go to the options by pressing the 3 lines icon and pressing Offline areas. You can navigate to offline parts in your map menu once you have found the place you want to save. This is a new trend as per technology news.

Next, tap the plus or add symbol in the bottom right of the display and you will driven with a message that says ” want to download this region?”

Drag the map in the square box until it encompass the area you want a map of. Touch to zoom (put two fingers on the display and bringing them jointly) to close in on the part you desire. Shift your fingers in the opposite way to zoom out and cover a larger area. Once you are happy with the map area, tap on button, Download.

Hit on download and provide your map a name. You will be encouraged to name your region. Do so in the box that appear. Once you have downloaded the map to your gadget, you can access it by pressing the menu icon at the top left of the main Google Maps page and returning to Offline areas, where you can now see your downloaded area.

You will find your saved map in Offline areas. Rename it by tapping the pencil icon at the top right.
